MATERIALS AND TOOLS
✓ Main yarn – I used approximately 125 g of white “Lotus Travka Stretch” by Kamteks (70% acrylic, 28% polyamide, 2% lycra) that has approximately 80 m in a 50 g skein).
Tip: You can use any moderately fluffy yarn (wool, acrylic, etc). The thicker the yarn, the bigger your toy will be. See the gauge section.
✓ Additional yarn for the socks and boots – I used “Soufflé” by Moscow Yarn Company (100% acrylic, 292 m/100g) in white, pink, beige colors (you can choose any colors you like). See the gauge section to check if you chose the correct yarn weight.
Tip: If you need exactly the same yarn visit this shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/LittleOwlsHutRUSSIAN
✓ Matching crochet hook. I used 3 mm crochet hook.
✓ A pair of ready-made eyes – I used 16 mm half beads.
✓ Brown polymer clay to make the beak and varnish or a ready-made beak.
✓ Single core copper PVC electrical wire – I used wire approximately 162 cm / 63.8 inches long 2.5 mm in diameter.
✓ Transparent glue
✓ Stuffing
✓ Tapestry needle
✓ Fabric tape approximately 1 cm wide to work up the wire ends (optional)
✓ Brush or Velcro to brush up the toy
✓ Any material for tinting (optional) – oil pastels, oil paints, pencils, etc.
✓ A piece of white felt for the whites of the eyes
✓ Scissors
✓ Strong thread for needle sculpting of matching colors
For crocheted version of the beak:
✓ Yellow or brown yarn – I used “Coco” by Vita (100% cotton, 240m/50g) (see Gauge section)
✓ Matching crochet hook (I used 1.6 mm)
For hat and scarf (optional)
✓ Any yarn - I used “Soufflé” by Moscow Yarn Company (100% acrylic, 292 m/100g) in pink color (you can choose any colors you like). There are no strict measurements for the swatches for the accessories. Try the hat and the scarf on as you go to adjust the number of rows and the amount of sts.
✓ Knitting needles – I used 2 mm for the scarf and 4 mm for the hat.
✓ Button or any other decoration for the scarf (optional
