1960 Socks
These take their name from the socks that every little girl in America wore in the years around 1960. Although I generally hated lace because it itched, I liked these, probably because the lace was not next to the skin. So here is a new version for a new generation of little girls.
SIZING children’s shoe sizes of 10, 11, 12, 13, 1, 2, 3 in US shoe sizing
YARN & GAUGE Use a #4 yarn for the main fabric, with the machine adjusted to get 4 stitches/6 rows/inch. For the ruffle, use Red Heart Boutique Sashay yarn for all versions. Other ruffle yarns may work but I have only tested this one on all machines and it works wonderfully. The main yarn used here is Red Heart Super Saver because it matched my ruffle yarn so well but many #4 yarns will do the job. 1 skein of each yarn is ample.
