1970s Inspired Crocheted Potholders
There are two patterns on the website, located under two different steps.
One pattern is a potholder in a round, and the other is a potholder in two pieces, crocheted together.
There are optional felt embellishments you could add, and the patterns are free downloads as photos from the website that were inspired by a 1971 Columbia Minerva leaflet titled “this -n- that”.
The original leaflet called for rug yarn, but this pattern is written to use up larger amounts of scrap acrylic yarn.
As an experienced crocheter, the time to make the project is estimated at 2-1/2 hours, not including the time to add an embellishment.
The hook size may vary depending on your stitch experience. The author suggests a size G hook, but is a loose stitch crocheter. A tight-stitch crocheter may need to use a size H or I hook.
Please email the author with any questions or pattern change-suggestions.
