Our queen has released 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and I wanted to celebrate by creating a 1989-inspired electronics sleeve, accented with ruffles. This pattern can be left as a sleeve, or handles and straps can be added to turn it into a bag.

I used 24/7 Cotton Yarn for this project, but any yarn type and weight could be used - just check your gauge! I have included instructions for calculating the size based on your gauge swatch. This is a great stash-busting project and because it’s made to measure, you can create a sleeve for any electronic device - laptop, tablet, phone, etc.!

You will need:

  • yarn of your choice and corresponding hook
  • scissors
  • measuring tape
  • tapestry needle

To make a sleeve for my 15” MacBook Pro, I used roughly half each of four skeins of Lion Brand’s 24/7 Cotton Yarn. I used four colors, but you can do whatever you’d like - two or three colors, solid color, variegated yarn, etc.
