This cowl is knitted in the round with some shaping so that the bottom lays smoothly on your shoulders. The hat is made the exact same way with the addition of closing the opening. You can add the beads or leave them off, either way the fantastic vine pattern will make a gorgeous romantic statement to your accessories. This pattern has instructions for small which will be closer around your neck and a medium for a longer drop. You can make the small with one ball of yarn that has about 130yds.
