This is a dk-weight yarn using, stranded colorwork hat which is knit in the round. It also uses colorwork in the form of stripes and corrugated ribbing.

——————————-

The inspiration for this hat comes heavily from my early teenage years. Vans were in style. I still loved swimming. This is circa 2006, when I was fourteen in the summer months. I hope we all have at least a few happy memories from this age.

I’m clearly very pleased with the colors I chose to recreate these memories, distilled in a little hat (with sneaker-style checkerboard, to boot)

I hope you find yourself in happy memories as much as I do. I encourage you to choose yarn that compliments whatever feels real, and/or whatever reminds you of the best memories you may have, even if they haven’t happened yet.

This pattern was originally published in July, 2022. As of February 2023, I am in the process of updating it to be more size-inclusive. If you download the pattern prior to the update, the update will still be sent when it is complete.
