This is the 2023 yearly KAL in the Beginner’s Knit-Along group.

The 3 moderators will take it in turns to design/use a different cable pattern each month, to be published both in chart and written form on the 10th each month of 2023.

As of Dec 10, 2023, the downloadable pattern contains everything.

Meant to be a sampler scarf, this pattern, like our previous yearly KALs in the group, is open to any kind of interpretation.
You can knit 12 cloths, 12 blanket squares, 12 hats, 12 cowls, 12 pairs of mitts or slippers, 12 tissue box cosies…
We provide a monthly pattern, feel free to use it as you wish.

The sample is knitted in DK yarn, but you can easily adapt it to any thickness by just knitted a few more/fewer stitches to get the wanted width with your chosen yarn.

You will need US 6 (4mm) needles, and between 600 yards (550m) and 800 yd (730m) of DK/sports yarn, depending on how long and how wide you make your scarf. CAUTION. This is only an evaluated average. Since the pattern doesn’t exist yet, it’s impossible to forecast precisely.
