Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, Winter 2007/08: “Trim but never prim, Joan Forgione’s waistcoat cardigan exudes 1940s flair. Knit in Dale of Norway’s cashmere/alpaca-infused “Harlequin,” the jacket is nipped at the waist and widely piped in a contrasting tweed at the peplum, shawl collar, cuffs and button bands.“
“Standard-fitting jacket with contrast patterned trim, small shawl collar, turnback sleeve cuffs and cut away fronts. Sized for Small, Medium, Large and shown in size Small on page 88.”

Materials:
- 7 (8, 9) 1¾oz/50g balls (each approx 120yd/110m) of Dale of Norway Harlequin (wool/microfiber/alpaca/cashmere/viscose) in #1 taupe (A)
- 4 (5, 5) balls in #9 brown (B)
- One pair size 6 (4mm) needle or size to obtain gauge
- Size F/5 (3.75mm) crochet hook
- Stitch holders, safety pins
- Four ½“/13mm buttons
