#221 Crystal Cove Shawlette
There’s a stretch of beach here in Southern California called Crystal Cove. It’s nicely secluded, with charmingly restored cottages that are wonderful to stay at, if you get lucky enough to snag one.
This elongated, triangular shawlette reminds me of those cottages. There’s a vintage charm to the combination of stitches. It’s knit up in a hand-painted, fingering-weight yarn on slightly larger needles, giving it fresh appeal and lovely wearability.
Open, textured lace bands are alternated with bands of Stockinette stitch to highlight the subtle color variations of this yarn. A simple lace with a 6-stitch repeat is easily worked from the charts or written instructions included here.
The shawlette finishes with a lace stitch that forms pretty waves.
This shawlette uses only one hank of yarn, making this a pattern you can knit over and over again. It will quickly become your go-to pattern for those gorgeous sock and fingering-weight yarns you can’t resist adding to your stash.
