#23 Gauntlet Gloves & Toque: Gloves
Pattern Description from Vogue Knitting, Fall 2007: “Hats off and gloves on to Deborah Newton’s ski-sweet accessories, which graced our cover twenty-one years ago. They’re remade in the luxest fiber blends from Knit One, Crochet Too. The gloves, in baby alpaca/silk/cashmere ‘Ambrosia,’ center and elaborate cable that travels from cuffs to fingertips. Wrist pompoms dangle from a mock drawstring. The toque, in merino/camel ‘Camelino,’ is knit in panels - three vertical, one horizontal - to which the floppy top attaches after it’s worked in the round. An attached I-cord bottom band and pompom-tipped twisted-cord strings are the final touches. You can wear the hat gathered at the sides.”
“Aran gauntlet gloves in cable and bobble patterns with corded pom pon ties. Toque hat in cable and bobble patterns with ruched side and corded pom pon tassels. Shown in one size on page 130.”
