Passap machine knitting instructions for a skirt and bikini top for child. Both items are knit in a combination of stocking stitch and two colour, single bed tuck stitch with the patterning either done manually following the chart provided, or with Jac punchcard 19(67).

The skirt is knit sideways starting with the front button band. The rows of tuck pattern are interspersed with stocking stitch short rows. A tubular waistband is knit separately and sewn on. The waistband is closed with a hook and eye. (Waist elastic is mentioned in the materials but seems to have been forgotten in the instructions).

The bikini top starts with ribbing at the bottom before a panel of the tuck pattern and then a band of stocking stitches which is to be sewn folded down. The button bands (folded) and straps (tubular) are knit in stocking stitch.

The pattern calls for 280 g “fairly fine cotton yarn” (500m per 100g): 210 g red and 70 g white plus 8 buttons, 1 hook and 1 length waist elastic

Test square in the AX pattern: 100 sts = 32 cm, 100 rows = 14.5 cm

The stitch sizes given in this model book are for the earlier “Pinkie” Passap (referred to as the “Duo” in this model book). Add an extra half stitch size to get the appropriate stitch size for the later DM80 and E6000 machines.

The pattern is pictured on p14 of the model book, (p15 of the pdf), the instructions are on p21 of the instruction book (p40 of the pdf).
