Passap machine knitting instructions for a maxi length cotton dress knit in an eyelet pattern. A transfer lock is used every 4th row to make the eyelets.

The dress is knit in several parts, mostly knit sideways:

  • The bottom flounce is knit sideways. The eyelet pattern here is racked to produce the diagonal lines
  • The upper skirt is also knit sideways in the transfer pattern but without racking.
  • The bodice is knit sideways starting at one side
  • The neckband is knit flat with short rows to produce mitered corners
  • The straps are knit circular and turned inside out
  • Circular cords are knit to be woven in through the eyelets at the waist

All the sideways knit elements are started and finished with waist yarn so they can be grafted together. Once these are done the pieces are sewn together.

The pattern calls for 800 (870) g cotton yarn (320m per 100g): plus 50g green for cords

Test square in the transfer pattern: 100 sts (front) = 40cm, 100 rows=21cm

The stitch sizes given in this model book are for the earlier “Pinkie” Passap. Add an extra half stitch size to get the appropriate stitch size for the later DM80 and E6000 machines.

The pattern is pictured on p2 of the model book, (p3 of the pdf), the instructions are on p33 of the instruction book (p52 of the pdf).
