Passap machine knitting instructions for an “elegant dress” “for experienced knitters with knowledge of sewing”.

The front and back bodice of the dress is knit sideways on the front bed of the machine (starting with waste yarn on a side seam), while at the same time the skirt is knit on the back bed using half tubular stocking stitch. They are knit in a striped pattern: “6 rows (RC 12) mohair, 2 rows (RC 4) rayonne.”

The sleeves are knit bottom up in the same stripe pattern. An extra rectangle is knit in the stripe, from which an insert for the v of the dress and the cowl neck is formed.

The neck and sleeve “silk borders” are knit in rayon in a double bed hand transfer pattern according to the chart provided.

The pattern calls for 310 g “fairly fine mohair/acrylic” (600m per 100g) and 380 g “rayonne” (300m per 100g) of which 80 g for a cord (instructions indicate a twisted cord for a belt not shown in the photograph).

Test square in mohair / rayon stripe stocking stitch half tubular: 100 sts = 35 cm, 100 rows (RC200) = 28 cm

The stitch sizes given in this model book are for the earlier “Pinkie” Passap (referred to as the “Duo” in this model book). Add an extra half stitch size to get the appropriate stitch size for the later DM80 and E6000 machines.

This pattern also includes instructions for the Passap Combi machine.

The pattern is pictured on p9 of the model book, (p10 of the pdf), the instructions are on p26/27 of the instruction book (p45/46 of the pdf).
