250 Year Climate Stripe Scarf
This scarf is a climate stripe for Oxford, UK for the years 1771 to 2020. It is 250 rows in different shades of red and blue, comparing them to the pre-industrial average temperature, which is to say, the temperature before the industrial revolution and human-caused global climate change.
There are four “Blue” shades and six “Red” shades, either side of the white average temperature, clearly showing temperatures have increased. Yardage requirements are:
15 yds red 6 (darkest)
50 yds red 5
35 yds red 4
80 yds red 3
145 yds red 2
130 yds red 1 (palest)
150 yds white
65 yds blue 1 (palest)
45 yds blue 2
20 yds blue 3
15 yds blue 4 (darkest)
