Passap machine knitting instructions for skirt with a single bed fairisle band decorating the bottom edge. The skirt is knit sideways with the fairisle patterning done either manually via the chart given, via a self punched card or Deco card 89. The motif is isolated so that the patterning only takes place over 17 needles. A tubular waistband is knitted and sewn on to make a channel for waist elastic.

This skirt matches with 2829 Lady’s waistcoat.

Materials
180 g “fine mohair” (1000m per 100g):

  • 165g green
  • 15g cream

Test square
100 sts = 38 cm, 100 rows = 22 cm

Knitting Machines
The stitch sizes given in this model book are for the DM80 and E6000 Passap knitting machines. To use this pattern on an earlier “Pinkie” use half a stitch size smaller.

By following the schematic, this pattern can be adapted for use in other standard gauge knitting machines.

Form Computer
“If you want to knit this skirt with the Form Computer, use the programme for “neckband knitted straight” on page 2 of this description book. At “cm width of band” insert the desired length of the skirt (e.g. 68 cm). At “cm height of band” insert the desired width of the skirt. The Form Computer will not give you any indications on where to position the trimmings.“

The pattern is pictured p7 of the model book (p9 of the pdf), the instructions on p5 of the instruction book (p28 of the pdf).
