3 Basic Rib Hat Variations
These hats are a request from my son who wanted a hat that is ‘not too hot and itchy’. They use 4ply yarn, but are knitted on 4mm needles, so it creates a much looser knitted fabric that is not bulky or itchy.
A basic rib hat is a handy pattern to have – it’s an easy knitting project using plain or multicoloured yarn, and I’ve come up with some simple twists so you can create a hat for everyone!
Basic Hat: You can incorporate any colour changes you like – plain or multi coloured yarn or a combination will look great.
Pigtail Hat: Girls with pigtails don’t like wearing hats, so I’ve solved the problem by creating little pigtail holes!
Earflap Hat: to keep those ears snuggly warm.
