How does a mug rug differ from a regular coaster?

They’re usually bigger than a coaster and this provides a place to set your bagel, your toast, or your stack of cookies without worrying about the crumbs.

This pattern is so versatile you can change the size, simply by increasing your starting chain. If you want it smaller, just reduce your starting chain! The finished size if worked as the pattern is written, is approximately 6’’X9’’.

Materials Needed: 

Yarn: Two colors in the yarn of your choice. This pattern is worked with a double strand of yarn. It can be worked in a single strand, but the size will be different.

Any worsted weight #4 yarn will work great. Some great ideas are Red Heart Super Saver, and I Love This Yarn! from Hobby Lobby.

Hook: Size Size: I/9 – 5.5mm
