MATERIALS AND TOOLS

You will need (for the plain box as in the photo above):
- Some cotton yarn
Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi) - 125 yards (115 meters) per 50 g (1.76 ounces).
25 g yellow (color 1), 25 g red (color 2), 5 g dark yellow (color 3);
TIP: Yarn does not have to be 100% cotton, but if you are not using the cotton yarn, do NOT iron the pieces.
TIP: You can use Finer yarn working in double strands as I did.

  • Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi) - 262 yards (240 m) per 50 g (1.76 ounces); 5 g dark red (color 4) for making the edge.
  • Steel Hook - 2,25 mm (US Steel Hook - 2, UK – 1 1/2).
  • Steel Hook - 1 mm (US Steel Hook - 12, UK – 6 1/2).
  • Tapestry needle.
  • Clothing pins – 8 (to secure pieces together).
  • Super glue (to glue the bow pieces together).
