Like its worsted weight companion, the 35th Anniversary Hat, this hat celebrates the 35th Anniversary of the Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race. Wear your hat while tracking each of the dog sled teams in the 2018 race beginning on February 3. The race starts in Fairbanks, Alaska, crossing mountains and rivers, to finish approximately 10 to 14 days later in Whitehorse, Yukon. This hat has been designed in honor of the human and canine athletes that take on this challenge.

This hat pattern will be available through March 31, 2018, after which it will be retired forever. All proceeds from the sale of this hat will be donated to the Yukon Quest to be used for the care of the canine athletes.

With the thanks and support of the officials of the Yukon Quest, 100 of these hats are being knitted and donated for the warmth of the mushers, race officials, and veterinarians for the 2018 Yukon Quest.
