This “stitch” or fabric was engineered to cause the work to naturally fold into the geometric folds or pleats seen on recently popular scarves and throws. Though it exhibits a good amount of depth or shaping, it is knitted completely flat. It is actually diamond-shaped tiles of garter stitch and moss stitch joined together with a “Y” formed by 3 stockinette stitches. Blocking at the end accentuates the folding effect.

I’m working on another version of this which is finer and less beastly in hopes that it would make a nice scarf! This could make an okay scarf as is, I guess.
