3D Poppy with bud and leaf
3D Poppy with bud and leaf
Made with a total of about 12g of DMC Petra 5 crochet cotton & a 2.5mm hook:
- flower head is about 3” across at widest point
- bud is about 1.5” long
- leaf is about 2.25” long
- length of stem could be adjusted - designer’s are about 9” long
Other materials used:
- florists wire (designer used 24 gauge) - about 50” in total: for a 9” main stem - 2 x 18”, bud - 5”, leaf - 9”
- just a little stuffing for the bud
You will also need wire cutters (or old scissors), yarn needle, stitch markers, scissors and a little tacky glue to secure yarn at end of wires. You could use florist’s tape instead of wrapping the stems with yarn.
Pattern includes detailed instructions and photos to help assemble the various parts.
If making just the flower e.g. for a brooch or applique you won’t need the wire etc. but might need a brooch pin.
