This is a crochet pattern for a home decor basket to hold a 4” potted plant or to use for storage in any room of the house. Get creative - use it on your desk with a mason jar inside to hold pens, make a short version to hold paper clips/odds and ends.

A great scrap busting project, this plant basket is easy to make with any yarn you have on hand and it can be completed in about half an hour. The tan basket is made holding 2 strands of worsted weight yarn. The wine and gray baskets are made using a single strand of bulky weight yarn.

This is a skill level “EASY” pattern, and requires the knowledge of basic crochet stitches: chain stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, crochet in the 3rd loop and slip stitch. You should also be familiar with a magic circle, however an alternative start is provided.
