4pm Sweater
The 4pm Sweater is a top-down circular yoke pullover. Four colors work together to form a textural mix of hues. Only one color is used per round in a simple sequence of knits, purls or slipped stitches. The neckline of the sweater is cast on and sweater worked in the round. Short rows are worked to raise the back of the neckline. Increases are worked into the stitch pattern to the sleeve separation point. The body is then knit in the round to the hem. The sleeves are worked in the round to the cuff. The final stitch of each round is worked in two colors which visually creates a faux seam and functionally tightens stitches when changing colors and wraps the strands being carried. This sweater can be worn right side out or wrong side out.
Inspired by woven fabrics and sunset hues, a palette of darkness, light, intensity and softness are reflected on the ripples of the ocean’s surface. The pattern names in the Sunset Collection refer to times throughout the year when the sun sets on the coast of Maine.
