These are fun (and addictive!) circular placemats that you can make on any 3/4” gauge knitting loom. The ebook contains five patterns in total; and four of those patterns include instructions for two sizes of placemats. 13” diameter or 14” diameter. Plus there is bonus information on how to use these patterns to make dishcloths! So there are lots of fun projects inside this one ebook.

These placemats are all knit on the same gauge loom and all follow a similar construction. They are all knit using short rows of garter ridges (one row u-knit + one row purl = garter ridge) to create “wedges” and a group of wedges together creates a circular fabric. You then take the long tail and sew the cast on edge and the bind off edge together.

Loom: 3/4” gauge loom with a minimum of 20 pegs

Yarn: the samples were all made with Lion Brand’s Hometown yarn, a super bulky 6 acrylic yarn. The 13” diameter placemats use approximately 81 yards. The 14” diameter placemats use approximately 90 yards.

Due to the short row construction, these patterns are suitable for an intermediate loom knitter.
