  1. Poncho is worked in one piece working back and forth on circular needles the same as working with straight needles.
  2. Work begins at the lower front edge of piece and proceeds upwards. Stitches are bound off for neck opening and cast on again for back side of piece.
  3. Piece has two different colors being worked in 5 different columns at the same time. When switching between colors bring new color underneath old color before completing the first stich of new color. Pull both colors snugly after the first stitch is made with the new color. This will insure there are no holes between colors.
  4. When using 5 skeins of yard I have found it is easiest to keep skeins out in front of you while your work is in your lap. As the poncho progresses and gets larger it is easiest to roll the skeins into balls and keep them to the right of you while your work stretches out to the left of you.
  5. Main body of cape is worked in Stockinette stitch while bottom borders and edges are worked in Garter stitch.
  6. Cowl neck is worked after main poncho is completed.
