I crochet washcloths/dishcloths that I donate to a charity that sells them to raise money that is donated to cancer research. They sell their dishcloths 2 for $5.00, so I am going to donate whatever money I earn from the sale of this pattern to their charity “Relay for Life”.

Since I am always looking for stitches with lots of texture but easy to do and quick to make, I experimented with some stitches and came up with these 5 simple but elegant one-row stitch repeats that create these beautiful, textured washcloths.

Yarn: Bernat Handcrafter Cotton, a #4 medium weight cotton, but any dishcloth type yarn will work.

Size: My washcloths are approximately 6” (15cm) square, but the patterns are easily adjustable to whatever size you prefer.

Skill level: Beginner, easy. Patterns call for chain, single crochet and half-double crochet stitches.
