500 Mile Promise
This shawl was designed for a bride whose wedding was delayed by the pandemic. Her lovely sister dyed the yarn to match the bridesmaid dresses, and I made this for the bride as a surprise. A promise made while they lived over 500 miles apart, delayed but fulfilled.
Finished Size: 18”x 63” once wet blocked. Modification instructions are included
Yarn: Snallygaster Fibers Orion Luxe Fingering, 50% Merino, 50% silk, 438 yards/100g. Sample knit in Majestic. Sample used approximately 650 yards.
Also needed are 6/0 glass seed beads and a beading tool of your choice (I use a tiny crochet hook).
Needles: 24” or longer circular needle, size 5 US (3.75mm), or size to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 20 stitches and 22 rows in wet-blocked stockinette stitch; gauge is not critical for this item but will affect yardage and drape.
