Original Candide pattern is out of print. Several vendors now offer kits for these and other designs.

These classic Christmas stockings come in kits that include written instructions for the overall stocking, charted instructions for the pattern, and charts for duplicate stitching words or numbers around the top of the stocking when you’re done. This particular pattern also includes a tassel, eyes, and red nose to the Santa face.

Each kit contains all the yarn needed to make the stocking. US size 8 knitting needles, and a tapestry needle, are also needed.

Each Christmas Classics pattern is worked slightly differently. This particular pattern is worked flat. This stocking is finished by looping a braid of yarn through the back of the stocking and knotting to form a loop from which to hang the stocking; other patterns in this series have you sew down the top of the cuff and run the braided yarn through that.
