55. Baby Boy Waistcoat
Instructions for a baby boy’s or reborn dolls casual, tweed effect waistcoat in either 4ply or DK yarn depending on size. It is ideal for summer. This waistcoat will fit either babies 2.5lb -0/3 months or 21-22 inch reborns, 19-20 inch reborns, 17-18 inch reborns or a 15-16” reborns. I’ve knitted mine in Sirdar Snuggly DK.
You will need:
15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size
50g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles, making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 3-5lb Prem) Size
50g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles, making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size
50g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles. OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size
50g dk yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles, making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size
50g dk yarn in main colour A, 50g contrast colour B, 3 buttons, 3 x stitch holders, 1 x pr 4mm needles, making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
This pattern has been designed by myself so it is in UK terminology. It does not follow the usual ‘shop bought’ format., and is in multi-sized. There are 6 printed pages with clear and easy to follow instructions. All my patterns are tested by independent knitters before they are released, so every effort is made so that they come to you error free.
