6 Hour Shawlette is a fast and fun project. It has the look of a complicated lace, but is actually simple to knit. Create an elegant beaded shawl or a sporty wrap – the options are there for you to explore. Because this pattern is quick to knit, it makes a perfect comfort shawl.
Size: Though this pattern is very flexible when it comes to size, the two samples are similar in final measurements. The blue beaded version is 66” by 14”. The orange version measures 62” by 13”. By adding rows, you can knit this pattern as a large shawl if desired.
Yarn: 6 Hour Shawlette is also flexible when it comes to yarn type and yardage. Both samples used about 300 yards of DK. Although designed for sport to worsted weight, you may use any yarn. Your yardage and finished size will vary. Note that if you use a lighter weight yarn (or beads), it will take longer to knit your shawl!
Beads: Beads are optional for this pattern. The blue beaded sample used 224 beads in size 2/0. Use a bead size suitable for your yarn. The number of beads you will need is variable based on when you begin your beading, and also how many rows you knit of the lace pattern.
