6. Mountain Star
by Martha Keep
GAUGE ALERT - Isager Alpaca 2 is a LIGHTWEIGHT fingering yarn with the somewhat looser, loftier twist of a traditional colorwork wool yarn.
(50g - 273yds/250m)
I looked long and hard for a very lightweight, strong fingering yarn because I love, love, love the look of a very small gauge in colorwork.
Most Superwash-type Fingering Weight sock yarns,
(50g - 175-220yds/160-200m), often spun with a very springy, tight tubular twist, will not achieve my gauge.
The Mountain Star is a fully charted design for color work fingerless gloves worked in the round. Can be knitted in four sizes (pattern includes individual charts for each size).
