8-Bit Kirby Blanket
I made an 8-bit Kirby Blanket with granny squares. I used a simple granny square pattern and joined with the whip stitch, but you can use whatever pattern and joining method you prefer. I have included the instructions for the granny square I used in this pattern.
There are three different sizes of squares - designed to be about 1 2/3”, 3 1/3”, and 5” in width. They’re not exactly the right sizes, and the stitches don’t match up exactly when you join.
Gauge is not super important, since this is a blanket. The blanket was designed to be 70” x 60” (to fit two people).
My squares turned out about 1”, 3”, and 5” in width, and my completed blanket (with border) measured 57 1/2” x 64 1/2”.
You will need the following colors (and approximate yardage):
light pink - 550 yards
dark pink - 150 yards
red - 100 yards
black - 500 yards
white - 150 yards
blue - 1550 yards
green - 1000 yards
You will also need a crochet hook (I used size G) and a yarn needle for weaving in edges and joining.
