this is a beginning level pattern written in American U.S. crochet terms.
the stitches you would need to know to create this pattern are chain, slip stitch, and double crochet.

this pattern can be used in any weight of yarn, be you should use yarns of similar weight if you choose to switch colors. the pattern is written for a baby blanket size, but you can easily make it as large as you want by repeating the pattern. i made an afghan for a queen size bed using this pattern.
