(8) Your Bathing Costume
The hand-knitted bathing suit has arrived. More than, that, it threatens to become a craze and oust all other kinds from our beaches this summer. At Deauville it is the smart thing to have knitted your own suit, or at least have it hand-made to order.
So, though the weather is hardly warm enough yet for swimming, you will want to get ahead with your suit, for it will take some time to make. Of course, the big advantage of “knitting your own” is that you can have several suits this summer for the price of one bought one. and you will be able to indulge in several distinctive colour schemes. The suit pictured here is worked in gold and black, a most effective combination. It will flt 30-32 inch bust.
MATERIALS: 10oz. “Crocus” non-shrink knitting wool; the original was worked with 9oz. gold (shade 122) and 1oz. black (shade 52). Two No. 10 knitting needles.
