80's Advent Scarf & Wrap
This Advent Calendar was largely inspired by the ’80s Advent and Christmas festivities. Each skein is unique and represents something inspired by the ornaments and traditions of this decade.
Taking the cue from Pontinhos ao Vento’s hand-dyed yarn, I developed this mindful and easy-to-knit design, to showcase the lovely speckles.
The design is inspired by the strings of lights that were a must-have in every household to decorate the Christmas tree and the ones that decorated all the storefronts during the holiday season in the 1980s, making it a wonderful show of lights for everyone.
It is knit flat, with a bias construction, to make it asymmetrical. It features a pattern repeat that is easy to memorize, with a simple lace pattern to make fun without being boring.
You can knit the scarf version or the wrap version, according to your preference.
It is designed to have minimum waste, by using up all the yarn.
