9-Stitch Chevron Cowl
9-Stitch Chevron Cowl!
This cowl is designed around scraps, and features a chevron stitch/ribbing combination to show off all the contrasting colors and textures of good yarns left over from larger projects.
The 9-Stitch Chevron Cowlis knit all in the round, and features a stream-lined, easy-to-memorize pattern that sums up briefly and neatly in just a few lines.
Want to knit a scarf version? Try the One Row Chevron Scarf! (You’re not going to believe this, but that scarf is also easy to memorize.)
Gauge:
Gauge is 26.2 sts and 26 rows over 4”/10cm of blocked chevron rib pattern, worked in the round. Row gauge is less important than stitches per inch. Please be sure to check your gauge!
Materials::
- 355-400 yards of Malabrigo Yarn Mechita or similar yarn; sample shown in random scraps from sock- to light sportweight
- 1 16-24” circular needle in US5-6/3.75-4.0mm, or size needed for gauge.
- Tapestry needle
- Removable stitch marker
Measurements::
As shown, this cowl measures 13”/33cm tall and about 11”/28cm across when measured flat. It has a circumference of about 22”/56cm.
