#97 Chic Ruffled-Edge Scarf
Gauge: Approximately 19 stitches = 6” 15 cm and 12 rows = 2” 5 cm in Curving Lattice Lace Stitch .
Subtle touches make this scarf extra luxe and sophisticated. Knit in a rich shade of chocolate brown alpaca and silk blend yarn from Knit Picks.
The main part of the scarf is knit in a pretty lattice lace pattern from end to end. Short rowing at the ends creates softly curved ends.
The ruffled edges are knit in, on one side as a continuation of the main part. The provisional cast-on stitches are then picked up to knit the ruffle on the other side. The result is a lovely cascading ruffle in a textured moss stitch that contrasts nicely with the smooth delicate lace of the main section.
This scarf can be worn wrapped traditionally around the neck, or folded and looped through for a more modern effect. Worn the latter way, the tapered, curved ends resemble delicate leaf shapes. Either way, your neck will be enveloped in wonderfully textured and soft warmth.
