A bite in the apple
A soft, lacy openwork scarf in a very special tunisian crochet stitch.
I have made up my own name for these stitches:
“tunisian offset DDs” or ”tunisian offset double-doubles”
Size is easily customized to your liking.
If you already have experience in making a couple of tunisian projects, this is a pattern for you! (Not for beginners!)
My inspiration for this pattern came during a long, very cold april: longing for spring, blooming appletrees and the feeling of handpicking ripe apples in summer.
It is also my first published pattern in Ravelry, so for me it is like “A bite in the Apple!” The fresh, juicy feeling of starting something new.
As I have made up designs nearly all my life and love it, but never wrote something down, it is a fresh start on an interesting journey! Be heartly welcome to walk with me!
Suitable yarns are fingerring or sportweight of wool or mostly wool. One of the testers used worsted with good results! So it is up to you, just follow the instructions in pattern for making an pre-start-swatch to check drape and adjust hook size accordingly.
I found a yarn coloured like appleblossoms, used it in a Fibonacci sequence with several yarns in greens ands applepinks.
I wish you a happy time making, if you need any help please contact me

Happy crocheting!
