Big Nana’s last request of me was to knit her a ‘cowl’ to wear down to the dining room in her retirement home. Just hours before she had a heart attack and passed, we sat together in her living room and picked out yarn together. She decided on this color scheme. We sat and talked a bit as I began to knit the cowl. At the age of 95, she still wanted to be fashionable, yet, practical. This pattern was truly designed for her. While she never saw the finished cowl, I know that she would have loved it. It met all of her criterion: long, but not too long, short, but not too short, light, airy, soft and colorful.
