"A Desert storm" Mandala potholder
I LOVE mandala. I love what it symbolizes especially. “Mandala” means circle in Sanskrit and is a spiritual symbol for Buddhism. Usually Mandala is made in very bright colors with several yarn changes throughout. I decided to make one using variegated yarn so there is no color changes but you can do color changes by tieing off on whatever rows you want, and adding a new color. I made this design to be easier for beginners to learn so I decided to take out the extra work of joining new yarns each row. I also wanted to use earth tones and this yarn is just too pretty!
