This is a garter stitch scarf, knitted on the bias. The scarf is knitted in stripes of 1 row, with “resting yarn” carried up both edges of the scarf. The scarf has a “false stripe”, where there are two rows of dashes for the stripe, which gives a different texture to standard garter stitch but requires no added effort! If you would like to try the false stripe, but do not yet feel confident with increases and decreases, a simplified version of the scarf is given at the end of the patten.
