A Fed-Up Hat
I work a lot and for years, searched for a wonderfully simple design that always looked good, classic and unisex. Something I could take off my head and gift to a friend when they needed a lift.
This is a delightfully easy pattern to knit, suitable for any beginner. It knits up incredibly fast, which is particularly helpful since we are all very busy, right? The other important thing about it is that it looks amazing! No blocking needed.
Easily adjusted for sizes up or down, with instructions for all.
Note: As you knit this, the beautiful twisted stitches add a lovely touch of “professional knitter” to your hand-crafted hat, right? Then you get to the top and the decreases. They will show differently as you knit them than the appear in the attached photos. But here’s the trick: you finish the knit, crochet two inches of chainstitch to secure the end. Then turn the hat inside out and THERE is where those beautiful decreases show up. Turn up the cuff and the twisted stitches reappear on the outside. That’s right: You knitted the hat inside out.
Personally, I can crank out one of these in about a day, as I am sitting in meetings on Zoom. And that is a REAL gift at this time of year!
