I designed this little frog a few years ago and have knitted him in many different guises. This time he is trying to woo the lady on the swing who seems far more interested in the caterpillar. If you don’t know the Nursery rhyme – Hey ho said Rowley There are no hard and fast rules with this pattern. Make a bigger tree, more branches, more / less catkins, more flowers, whatever you fancy, I won’t come round and give you marks out of 10 I
promise. Would look good in a Nursery, then you could explore the song / rhyme. I don’t like knitting in the round – unless it is hats, and it seems I am not alone, so everything is knit flat. I purchased the little dragon eye cabochons from Amazon – they are 6mm, black beads or animal eyes would work just as well.
Apart from 100g of green dk for the wreath covering, everything else is is in small amounts - 25g or less, so, a great stashbuster. I used aran for the tree, 4 ply for the flowers & caterpillar & everything else is DK, you will also need pipecleaners, lolly sticks & glue
