This is a twisted stitch cowl based on the traditional Austrian patterns from the Enns Valley Region. There are two versions and two lengths, a tall and a short, each with a chart and written instructions. Either may be knit in different lengths, with stitch counts given for a double loop and a (neck warmer) size.

Any modern day girl wooing a modern day goatherd might be needing a cowl like this to keep her yodeling voice sweet and clear. Or it might be the perfect gift for that special goatherd in your life!
