It is a good egg! I have hand knit Easter Eggs using up small amounts of left over sock yarn. It was a good use of sock yarn scraps, but slow. So I made eggs on my Circular Sock Machine. They are easy and quite fast. Each egg is formed over a small plastic egg.
The resulting egg cover is a nice, tight fit over a plastic egg.
The construction is basically a small toe with a few rows of flat-web and another smaller toe.

Supplies: A small amount of sock yarn, (less than 5 grams) and a small plastic egg.

Skills required: Flat web knitting and grafting (Kitchener stitch) from waste yarn (not from knitting needles). Pattern is written using 18 needles on a 60 cylinder and works using 22 needles on a 72 cylinder machine.

This is a quick little thing to knit on your CSM to use up left over yarn and have some fun.
