This is that pattern for a basic adult beanie. I like a hat that is long enough to fold up at the bottom so that it can keep your ears warm and fit a wide variety of head sizes. Since you are making it from the top down you can check it periodically and see if it is the right length for you. If you don’t want to fold it up you can stop around row 14 or 15 and simply skip to row 19 to finish it off. I have also include a youth hat and a baby hat. These hats are pretty flexible on the size and stretchy as well so you should have a lot of flexibility on sizing. But if you find you need to add a little width simply add another increase row… or if you find the hats are too big then alter it on that end instead.

After you are done making the hat I suggest that you add an Octopus to the top as a garnish.
