A Hat for Kate
by Tina Fischer
An easy hat to knit – perfect for beginners as it’s all knitting, no purling! And we give you very detailed instructions. You knit the brim on a circular needle without joining to knit in the round (yet), but instead knitting back and forth for six rows. Then bind off four stitches, join the remaining stitches to knit in the round, and knit until you get near the top, where you’ll knit some stitches together to shape the crown of the hat. The buttons on the brim are just sewn on, no buttonholes needed. Use one large button or toggle or two or three smaller ones. How easy is that?
Skills Needed:
Long-tail cast on (CO), knitting (K), binding off (BO), sewing on buttons
