Feeling lucky? A Hat Full of Luck is the perfect hat for a little St. Patty’s Day celebrating, or for adding a little luck to any occasion. Knit bottom up, it is a great pattern to try if you’ve never done stranded colorwork before. Using only one contrast color and a repeating pattern sequence, you’ll be a colorwork pro in no time! It’s recommended to catch your floats after every 4-5 sts of the same color. This hat fits a bit looser than a beanie, but isn’t falling off the head when worn. If you prefer a more snug fit, you can cast on 144 sts vs 168, and follow the pattern the same until you get to the decrease section (Skip round that starts with K6, K2TOG.) Avoid blocking this hat aggressively, or it will stretch out and not fit correctly. It is recommended to wet the hat, flatten it and shape to open up the pattern, and let it dry without pinning.
