A Jumper for the Holidays
Knit jumper with crochet yoke and crochet appliques.
YOU will want some knitting to take with you on your holidays, and this is just the design to make up, as it is not an intricate lace pattern which demands concentration. Crochet is effectively combined with simple drop stitch, and the jumper is so light and open that it can be worn with comfort on the hottest days. The
spray of flowers is appliqued on afterwards, and can be left off if desired. Either wool or cotton can be used.
Materials Required. — Cotton, 3 balls size 5 Semco pearl cotton. If 2-ply wool is used 1 skein of grey for the blouse, V-k skeins of red for yoke and clovers on blouse, small quantity of green for leaves; one set of four No. 11 needles pointed at both ends; one set of four No. 9 needles pointed at both ends; one set of four No. 7 needles pointed at both ends; one bone crochet hook, size 12.
N.B.—If wool is used, the ribbing can be knitted in 3-ply. This ensures quickness in working and compactness of work.
Tension.—7 st to the inch.
