A Knight's Helm
This is a pattern for a knight helmet. It was originally done as a freeform/amigurumi style crochet piece and later written as a guide. There are specific instructions but also a good deal of notes on how to adjust this for size if you are an experienced crocheter. I can offer some aid in sizing but you may need a model to test for very small and very large heads. I will add more notes for additional sizes in the future.
Again, there is no gauge because this is a pattern that encourages flexibility. While there is a hook recommendation, that is also flexible. You may need measurements or models/false head to get the exact sizing. The idea is to make it snug and fitting to get the best effect! If this is a gift, I would recommend using an existing chart for the general measurements of the age of the recipient and finding a comparable sized false head.
The current pattern is for the helm, chinstrap and visor elements; additions of a ridge/plume for the center and applique wings to be added at a later time. If you find any errors or have any questions, contact kitacat@me.com. Please give your Ravelry name so I can confirm the purchase before answering any technical questions. Do not message me on Ravelry; I am constantly working on craft projects and do not check it often. My email is set to notify me, I check it at least twice daily and will get back to you ASAP. I am a firm believer in integrity and quality as a designer and I truly wish to offer you a project you can feel really good about!
